The Best Abdominal Exercises Exposed!

When people think about exercises to firm up their abdominal muscles, sit-ups and crunches always come to mind. While crunches may be part of an exercise regime to work out the abs, there are many other strategies and methods that may be utilized by people looking to lose belly fat, make their six pack abs pop out, and condition the whole body as well.

Effective abdominal exercises that are, in most cases, geared towards delivering lasting benefits to the entire body, ideally must begin with some guidance from a certified trainer who will be able to expertly guide and teach you the importance of preciseness when you get going with your workout. A good exercise plan will also have, among its major components, recommended meal plans and dietary suggestions, with due emphasis on macronutrients – high quality proteins, complex carbohydrates and healthy fats that may help an individual carry on with a mild-to-moderate or intense training/workout program. In most cases, the dietary recommendations are customized to suit individual needs and requirements.

There are seemingly simple abdominal exercises (and for most people, easy does it or easy is the best) such as those suggested by Shawn Phillips, strength and fitness expert and author of the book, Strength for Life. He devised variations of the traditional crunches, starting off with Swiss Ball ab crunches, followed by reverse crunches, and capped off by ab crunches. These are to be performed in three sets of 12 to 15 repetitions. Crunches can help tone the muscles but a person with excess poundage must lose the belly fat first to see those muscles, and therein lies the challenge of sticking to a healthy diet.

Training the midsection if important because apart from revving up and uncovering six pack abs, the abdominals’ core muscles improve posture, reduce low back pain as well as injury risk, and strengthen the torso. From certified trainers’ point of view, the most effective and hence the best abdominal exercises include ab crunches that flex the upper abs and serve as foundation for the entire workout; reverse crunches that strengthen the lower abs; and side bends that work on lateral oblique muscles. There is also the bicycle, adjudged by the American Council on Exercise as among the best abdominal exercises because it utilizes every muscle in the abs to create a well-built torso.

It must be reiterated, at this point, that abdominal exercises per se may not create the washboard abs you may be longing for if you happen to have a sluggish metabolism. There many ways, however, to speed up your metabolism, including healthy snacking in between meals or going for low glycemic index carbohydrates (like oatmeal, multi-grain and whole grain bread, whole wheat pasta, and certain vegetables), aerobic exercises or cardio workout, hydrating/drinking enough water to stay energized, lifting weights, and monitoring food intake in a diary. Indeed, uncovering six pack abs requires constant monitoring of what, how much, and when you eat. Exercising, eating well, and bringing out six pack abs is no mean feat. Discipline and patience are essential. If many people can tone their abdominal muscles well, trim their belly fat and let six pack abs emerge, so can you, with much help from a proven program that’s certifiably safe and effective.

Question by James S: Can I become buff if I work out 6 minutes a day?
After work I do 2 minutes of Pilates abdominal exercies, 2 minutes dumbells, and 2 minutes using an exercise”Aeromotion” machine.

I walk about 2/3 of a mile each day to my bus stop. For an otherwise sedentary lifestyle, is 6 minutes of exercise enough to make a difference at all?

Just curious.

Frozen Shoulder Exercises for a Fast, Effective and Permanent Rehabilitation

Frozen shoulder exercises, not anti inflammatories, cortisone injections, or surgery, are the best answer to this common disorder. A frozen shoulder is a very limiting and impairing condition. Technically called Adhesive Capsulitis, it starts and develops in 3 distinct phases.

A freezing phase, when the rotator cuff starts getting sore and inflamed, typically at night, though range of movement is still unaffected. A frozen phase, when the rotator cuff is constricted by adhesions, which are scars of the sorrounding capsule membrane, and the arm affected looses full range of motion. Any attempt to go through the arm lock is met with pain. This is the most annoying and frustrating phase of the condition. A thawing phase, when the inflammation slowly starts subsiding and movement is very slowly recovered. It can last 1 year or more.

It is during the last phase that a program of frozen shoulder exercises would be advisable. Overall,  an Adhesive Capsulitis condition could last as long as 3 years in the worst case scenario, with 1 to 2 years disability periods being very common. I was lucky to get away with it in 15 months, but that was long enough to fully “appreciate” the impairment that a Frozen Shoulder implies in all the most mundane activities, like driving a car or reaching for the cupboard. All movements that we take for granted become a pain and impossible to perform.

However, it is possible to cut down on natural healing times with a proper set of exercises devised  by a professional therapist, as i later found out. It is possible to brake through the dull, aching feeling of a thawing phase and accelerate recovery to full functionality. Leaving the shoulder completely at rest during this period would only prolong the misery, while carefully selected rotator cuff exercises would gradually restore shoulder functionality. Due to its great complexity, it is normal for the shoulder joint to take ages to recover, comparing to other joints.

Therefore, it is all the more important to follow a professional frozen shoulder exercises program to help the healing process, cut down recovery times, and avoid drug dependancy. It is no use relying on a hope and pray approach to improvement ither, because it couldl only lead to a long unnecessary delay.

If you are affected by a Frozen Shoulder, there is no need to put up with misery any longer than necessary. Find out how to implement a frozen shoulder exercises program. Recover your shoulder flexibility and full range of motion effectively with professional frozen shoulder exercises.

Question by 人算不如天算: Merry Christmas to me icon sad Q&A: Merry Christmas to me : (? ?
So my fiance of five years (we’ve been together six) broke up with me almost to the day that we met. He told me that he has love for me but he has become complacent and doesn’t like himself. He has to go out and “do him, for him, by him.” The problem is, all of these epiphany’s that he’s having are things thtat I have been telling him for the past six years and it took another woman who is in a relationship of her own to open his eyes. His exact words were “you put the ducks in a row and she turned on the machine.” He swears that she had nothing to do with the break-up and I believe him because things have not been good for quite some time and neither of us was really happy but I guess I thought we would get around to dealing with the issues at some later point. In the meantime, I’ve met this great guy who says that he’s falling for me and I really want to fall for him but I can’t ge tover my ex. How do I get through this? Is there any chance that I might get back with the ex?
I wasn’t very happy with him at this time but we were together for 6 years. I do still love him and most of our problems can be chalked up to lack of communication and not letting go of old issues. He said that he needs some seperation and then he can evaluate where he really wants to be but I don’t know if that is just a nice way of saying “get lost, it’s not happening ever” or “just give me some time to get things together in my head.” In the meantime, I have this other guy who I really, really like but can’t like as much as he likes me or as much as I would have if I wasn’t still hung up.

How to Shop for Home Fitness Equipment in Arizona

Specialty fitness dealers are always your best and safest way to shop for home fitness equipment in Arizona regardless of your budget or fitness level. This article will provide you with on how to shop for home fitness equipment in Arizona.  Whether you’re just looking for something simple or the next big thing, the following information will be beneficial to you.

You’ve already made an intelligent decision and decided that your home is the best place for you to work out.  The next step is to decide what equipment you need.  If your resolution is to get fit in the New Year and work on your strength training, here are a few things you should consider before you start shopping.

A home gym can be whatever you want it to be.  It may just be a place where you exercise and lift weights, or it could be a compact equipment station (also called multi-gyms) designed to fit into a spare room, basement or garage so that you can do weight training at home.

There are endless options when it comes to choosing the right fitness equipment for your home gym.  But the choices for weight training equipment basically fall into a few categories: portable, free weight, multi-gyms, and total gyms.  Aerobic exercise equipment such as treadmills, rowers and stationary bikes are always options for a great cardio workout, but for now we are going to concentrate on strength training equipment.

Portable Equipment – Includes everything from dumbbells to workout benches, stability balls, steps, mats, ab machines and more.  If you can pick it up and move it, it fits in this category.  The main advantage of portable workout equipment is that you can fold it up (if necessary) and put it away when you’re through with it.  Some equipment, like stability balls and mats, is even compact enough to be taken along on a trip which makes portable equipment a popular choice for home gym equipment.

Free Weight Accessories – This includes adjustable benches, power racks, barbells, dumbbells and plates (also called round weights).  While some of these things may be portable, they are all categorized as heavy duty equipment that often times are part of a larger assembly.  If the space you require for your home gym is small, free weight accessories are probably your best bet.  You’ll be able to get a great strength training workout in with equipment that will test you to the max.

Multi-Gyms – There are several different types of multi-gyms available for home use.  The first type is based on steel or composite bands and cords that create resistance.  The second type is based on stacked weights, uses a cable and pulley mechanism and allows you to select the desired weight.  The third type includes round weights that are manually fitted to barbell extensions.  All of these are great options for a home gym.  What you choose will depend upon the type of workout you’re trying to achieve and the amount of space you have in your home.

Total Gyms – A total gym uses an adjustable bench and a sliding seat platform that increases resistance based on your own body weight. While the total gym may require more space, it will allow you to incorporate more strength training exercises into your workout.

Question by tatethegreat74: Do you have to do lots and lots of reps in order to obtain a 6 pack?
Or can you do a set of 10 about 3 or 4 times and that’s it. The magazines(Maximum Fitness) tell you that you only need to do about 3 to 4 sets of 10. Is everybody’s body different or do you have to do a lot of reps. Someone said in an article once, “Would you do 50 to 75 bicep curls? Of course not, so why would you do 50 to 75 reps of a ab exercise?” It made me think, hmmm….? So what is the truth on this?

Best answer:

Answer by t-bone
you don’t want to push your body too far if your just beginning, you can progress as you feel more comfortable, best bet on six pack is to eat right, an run, while still doin crunches. crunches will build the muscles, but something people don’t understand is you won’t have a sixer if you got too much cushion on top of the abdomen, youll have the muscles, but noone will no, best bet is to work on getting lean and workin them muscles

What do you think? Answer below!

Exercises For Biceps

The biceps are often viewed as a vanity muscle, and it is one muscle that can help you achieve the fit look you’re after.  Bicep exercises are crucial to achieving the look you want.

Biceps are composed of a long and a short head and both are activated when doing bicep exercises.

As with most exercises, Biceps Exercises should only be done three non-consecutive days in a week, and when the weight is increased your bicep exercises should be done with two days off in between workouts.

It’s important that you remember your biceps don’t only get a work out through bicep exercises, since you use your biceps when performing chest and back exercises as well.

So, which bicep exercises will offer the best results?

Bicep Curls
The bicep curl is the most common in the family of bicep exercises.  Bicep curls involve curling your hand towards you shoulders and it can be done with any type of resistance, whether it be dumbbells, barbells, resistance bands, cables or machines.  The key to proper bicep curls is that your elbow stays stationary while you are curling the resistance towards your shoulder.

Preacher and Concentration Curls
Both the concentration and preacher curls are variations of bicep curls and are therefore quality bicep exercises.  Both curls hold the arm at an angle which works the bicep in a different way and it adds a whole new intensity to your regimen of bicep exercises.

Make sure that you move only use your forearms as you use your bicep strength to curl the barbell up to shoulder level. Holding the weight at the top of the movement for a moment will really stretch your bicep.

Hammer Curls
Hammer curls are another variation on the traditional curl.  The main difference between a bicep curl and the hammer curl is that when performing hammer curls turn your palms to face in, which also works the fore arm.  Turning the arm during the hammer curl makes the move more challenging, so you may need to use lighter weights.

Hammer curls are performed with your feet shoulder width apart.  Letting the dumbbells hang at arm length on each side of your body with your elbows close to you’re your torso at all times with your palms facing each other.  Be sure to only move your forearms and use your bicep and forearm to curl the dumbbells up to your shoulder level.

Adding theses bicep exercises to your routine will add definition and mass to your biceps, and give you the arms you’ve always wanted.
