Perform the reps until you can’t perform them anymore, when you get to the 12th rep, you can cheat by slightly using momentum to get past the weak point of the bicep dumbbell curl, and this slight momentum will allow you to get 14-15 reps.

The dumbbells bicep curl will fill out your arms with thickness and length and help in building big bicep muscle mass in the upper regions of the biceps. This cheat dumbbell curls are by far the best bicep exercise in any mass building biceps workout.

Shoulder Exercises – The Way to a Pain Free Shoulder

After damaging my rotator cuff about six months back I have spent a great deal of my time researching shoulder problems and shoulder therapy on the internet and have discovered that exercise alone can sort out a huge proportion of shoulder problems.

Towards the end of last year I managed to tear my left rotator cuff.  It was a bad tear as they go and I ended up with an impinged tendon.  Basically one of the tendons got inflamed after I lifted something that was too heavy and tore one of the muscles in my rotator cuff.  As it becane inflamed it was getting pinched or impinged by my collar bone.  The pain was excruciating.  Each time I moved my shoulder in a particular direction my tendon was getting worn against the bone.

I tried a three month course of Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation, a steroid injection into the muscle and even cold compresses to reduce the swelling. All of them gave some relief and reduced the symptoms but nothing sorted it out for me.  In the end I was offered surgery to shave away a small piece of my collar bone to free up the tendon so that it could heal.  As I am based in England, with the NHS waiting lists, the operation date was three months away and having already suffered three months of pain and discomfort I was reluctant to wait any longer.

So I started finding out about shoulder injuries and shoulder therapy and discovered that physical therapy can do a lot for rotator cuff problems.

The secret is to rest the arm to start off with and work on the inflammation.  What I had been doing wrong was to try carrying on as normal which could have injured my arm even further.  Once I rested it properly for two weeks I was able to start simple exercises designed to strengthen my rotator cuff muscles.  It was bizarre because only a few weeks earlier the thought of doing shoulder exercises seemed absurd but it worked.  It is important not to feel pain when exercising as any pain indicates that you are damaging the muscles further so I started slowly and built up over about six weeks until I found myself with a pain free shoulder that had its full range of movement restored.

Ten weeks on and I have just played my first round of golf.  The shoulder therapy has not only sorted out my shoulder injury but they also seem to have improved my swing, or is that just wishful thinking?

Why did it work?  I believe that as we age our posture changes, we don’t stand as straight as we used to, we move slightly differently to when we were younger.  I think the shoulder exercises have woken up some lazy muscles and changed my posture for the better, only slightly, but enough to free up the problem tendons.  Would I recommend exercise as a therapy for a damaged shoulder?

100% Yes!  Not every shoulder injury will respond to just exercise.  Common sense would say that it must depend on how bad the injury is but ten weeks after I was told that surgery was the only option I am pain free and feel great.  The surgery is postponed indefinitely at the moment.

Killer biceps exercises for the outer head of the biceps

A reverse biceps curl is a must on any biceps workout, as I find it is a great exercise to finish my biceps with.
Due to the facts that reverse bicep curls work the forearms as well as the outer head of the biceps.
This is why I do the reverse curl at the end of the biceps workout as I always follow on with my forearms after woods.

Allot of people don’t bother with the outer head of the biceps or just mix up a load of exercises and hope that they will hit every part of the biceps.

If you don’t have some kind of plan for any body group then your muscles are not going to grow to their full potential.
The reverse bicep curl can be done in many different ways but my personal favourite is on a preacher bench using a cable machine, as this keeps constant resistance on the biceps.

How to do a reverse biceps curl.

Lets use a barbell for this example, hold the bar at shoulders width, you can also take a close grip this will work more of the outer head of the biceps and less on the forearms.
With a shoulders width grip keep your elbows close to your sides, and curl the weight up towards your chest.

At the top of the movement lift your elbows up about 4 inches; this will help you squeeze the biceps at the top of the exercise.

Do rep ranges of 10-12 as the forearms respond better to this range of reps and so do the outer head of the biceps.

 

I also like to do this exercise on a preacher bench using a straight bar or an ez bar.

 

One other exercise is the seated incline bench hammer curl using dumbbells, when doing this exercise I use quite heavy weights so I can’t rep out more than 9 reps.

 

Do not forget to stretch the biceps during and in-between the exercise, as this will get the most out of your reverse biceps curl exercise.

Biceps exercises and how to get big biceps fast

How to get big biceps fast and are there any magic exercises that can be done that make the biceps burst out of your t-shirt, is probably the most asked question I get from people who are just starting out in bodybuilding.

There are a couple of ways you can get big biceps fast the first is to take steroids, which I do not recommend and the second is hard work, knowledge of exercises, diet, routines and training like a mad man.

When you are starting out in bodybuilding, don’t fall into the trap that most people do, this being exercising only one body part to death and overtraining.

To get big biceps and fast first you have to know the muscle and its parts.

The biceps are made up of two muscles the inner head and the outer head, by training both of these biceps muscles you are going to see a great deal of mass appear on your arms, exercises for the inner biceps will be anything with a wide grip, such as.

Biceps barbell curls, seated concentration curls, wide grip barbell curls on a preacher bench, I think you get the idea.

For the inner biceps any exercise with a close grip, such as close grip barbell curls, close grip barbell preacher curls.

Also a good exercise for the outer biceps is reverse curls, dumbbell hammer curls personally found that when I first started seeing my biceps really getting big was when I started incorporating super sets and drop sets, my biceps just seem to burst out over night.

So whenever I feel like my biceps are at a sticking point by super setting or using drop sets puts them back on the road to growth.

The reason for not doing these types of exercises all the time is because I would overtrain the biceps as supper setting is quite demanding on any body part especially on a small muscle group like the biceps.

So if you really want to see the biceps get big fast do not overtrain them twice a week at most and only if they are fully recovered from the previous workout.

The other key factor to getting big biceps is to having big triceps, without big triceps your biceps will look lost and small, as the outside head of the triceps makes the outer head of the biceps look 
bigger when developed properly.

Good exercises for the outer triceps are close grip bench press, close grip push-ups, one arm laying on a bench dumbbell extension. These are just a few exercises for the outer head of the triceps.
Don’t forget about diet eating the right amount of protein, carbohydrates and fats are a complete must to grow any muscle group so make sure you are getting enough of all of them at lest 5 times a day every 3 hours.

So remember to get big biceps and fast know your biceps know your exercises do not overtrain eat the right foods, of you are a beginner keep your rep range in each exercise around 10-12 you will find that the biceps respond best to this not the normal 8 reps range and at 
first do not do more than 12 sets including the warm-up sets, or getting big biceps fast will become a slow uphill struggle.

Shoulder Exercises Pain – How To Stop Your Shoulder Pain With Exercise

I’ve had shoulder pain off and on since I was a kid.  It can affect either shoulder at different times and often times come on without warning.  Less frequently it is caused by some type of overuse injury.  My experience with shoulder pain and shoulder exercises pain is what led me to become a Physical Therapist.  This article will discuss what I have found to be the most beneficial approach to reducing and eliminating pain in the shoulder.   

If you suffer from a painful shoulder then you know how awful it can be.  From minor to severe pain it can stop you in your tracks and prevent you from doing your normal daily activities, your hobbies and even your job.  Sleeping can be difficult if you like to lie on the affected side.  How much trouble do you have lifting your arm when your pain is severe?  These symptoms can affect every aspect of your life.

An injury to the shoulder that causes pain can start with mild symptoms.  Most people will ignore it and try to “rub” it out.  Sometimes this seems to work and the pain goes away.  It is persists they will usually take some over the counter anti-inflammatory to ease the pain.  As the pain worsens they may even attempt to rest the area and eventually consult their MD.  From there the usual course is prescription anti-inflammatories, rest, time off from work, possible cortisone injection and referral to a physical therapist.  This is where I come in.  If you decide to skip this last phase then you’d better be prepared for rotator cuff repair rehab.

If there is one thing that has consistently helped my symptoms when they flare up it is shoulder exercises pain.  Performing specific range of motion and strengthening exercises has significantly reduced my symptoms every time I have problems.  I have used these same exercises with hundreds of patients over the years and have seen remarkable results.  Patients that were in so much pain they couldn’t even dress themselves because they couldn’t lift their arm leave my clinic painfree and fully normal.  

Shoulder exercises pain may seem impossible to do to someone that has extreme pain but when you are instructed properly and educated on exactly which exercises to do the results are nothing short of amazing.
