Rotator Cuff Exercises That Will Help You Recover Fast

There are many shoulder conditions that can be cured with specific rotator cuff exercises. Shoulder Tendonitis and/or Bursitis, Impingement Syndrome and Frozen Shoulder, to name the most common. Also disabilities arising from accidents and falls, such as rotator cuff tears and dislocated shoulders.

Many things can go wrong with the complex yet delicate set up of a shoulder, from wear and tear to inflammation, from scars (adhesions) to tears. Consistency is the key to a successful rehabilitation program, while poorly executed exercises can on the contrary increase healing times. It is best to avoid throwing movements and over head presses such as military presses before the rotator cuff has improved because they can irritate the shoulder joint even more.

Many other exercises can be performed, provided that they are designed by a specialist with knowledge in the field and experience in rotator cuff rehabilitation. Since it takes many months for a shoulder to recover spontaneously, it is no use to use exercises taken randomly because they could lead to further injury and strain. 
A visit to a doctor should always be arranged to have a professional diagnose about your specific condition before you start a rehabilitation program.

How To Get Big Arms Fast – Biceps – Standing Barbell Curl

The real king of bicep exercises this is used by folks at all levels from Mr. Olympia down to Newbie, to get big bulging biceps.

Stand with your feet a shoulder-width apart and hold a weighted barbell with both hands in an underhand grip. Let it hang in front of you at arms length and make sure your elbows are tucked in and close to your torso at all times.

Now, pull up the barbell by rotating only your forearms, using the strength from your biceps to do so until the barbell is at about shoulder-level. Hold the contraction for a beat to maximise the effort, then lower to the starting position.

Repeat for 3 sets of 6-10 repetitions

How To Get Big Arms Fast – Triceps – Lying Barbell Extensions

This exercise particularly stimulates the large inner head of the triceps and works like a charm. Lie down on a normal weights bench (that you would use for a chest press) and hold a weighted barbell with your arms straight (but a slight bend in your elbows to avoid injury) – hands a little less than a shoulder-width apart. Now lower the weight by bending your forearm down without moving your upper arm – this should be in an arc motion and should be lowered until the barbell is an inch or so away from your forehead. Now push the bar back up in an arcing motion using only your triceps.

Perform 3 sets of 6-10 reps.

How To Get Big Arms Fast – Forearms – Wrist Curls

Anyone who’s tried these will know they are incredible for building big strong forearm muscles and an iron grip.

Sit on the side of a flat bench and hold a barbell with hands in such a way that your elbows are resting on your thigh muscles and your forearms are pointing straight forwards (palms should be facing down).

Now, simply rotate your hands up and down in a controlled manner and you should begin to feel the burn pretty quickly.

Repeat 2 sets of 6-10 reps, then perform the same exercise with your palms facing up in order to work the other muscles of the forearm.

Strength Training Workouts: Biceps

This mental benefit often motivates individuals to do well in other areas of their lives.

Today’s strength training article will be focused on bicep exercises.  Below are some of the most common and effective exercises for this key arm muscle. 

Curls are the most common focused bicep exercise.  There are many varieties of the curl, below are several with very basic explanations of how the exercise is performed(1):

Standard Standing Dumbbell Curl – standing straight up, elbows locked at sides, with palms up curl up, then down and repeat Incline Dumbbell Curl – seated on inclined bench, execute standard curl as above Standard Curl (curl bar or straight bar) – same basic movement as standard dumbbell curl above Reverse Curl – same as standard curl with palms down Alternating Dumbbell Hammer Curl – same as standard dumbbell curl with palms turn inward toward sides of body Concentration Curl – seated on bench, one arm at a time, leaning forward with elbow braced against inner thigh (you may use free hand for additional support) Preacher Curl – while seated at a preacher bench perform curl with dumbbell, curl bar, or cable Cable Curl (in front of the body or overhead)

In addition to curls, there are a great variety of other exercises that benefit your biceps, even though they don’t focus or isolate them.  These types of exercises are often encountered when using weight or circuit training machines.  As you might imagine, these are typically exercises focused on muscle groups such as the chest, shoulders, and back; but whose execution involve your arms, and in particular your biceps.

Because it’s important to allow your muscles sufficient time to repair between workouts, it’s important to consider these exercises that overlap muscle groups so that you don’t inadvertently exercise a given group on consecutive days.  Again, this is an area where working with a qualified trainer, at least when you first begin training, would be beneficial.
