@Lulzcaek I personally use 50s and 55s, I started off doing 35s. I’ve been lifting seriously less than 10 months, I’m sure he can handle 70lb dumbbells.

@SLISETV 70lbs is heavy for the average person or, anyone at all doing a shoulder press using dumbbells, pushing it toward injury.

@Lulzcaek
You mean 35lb dumbbells in each hand? That’s still low weight. Its 70lb total.

@SLISETV 35 on each is heavy…this is not even 25, 25 is 2 plates of 5kg on each end and two 0.5′s on each end.

25 is pretty good to warm your arms up. If you’re starting out, 35 is usually pretty good to ease into doing this workout correctly. No matter your strength, you always want to start really low until you have perfect form, then add weight. I personally don’t like this guy’s form…but he’s pretty big, so whatever works.

You should max out if you want bigger shoulders, though. Although always have a spotter for this if you go heavy, don’t put too much trust in your muscles.

@xabcx No 25′ are nothing. I use those as a warm upset and i’ve only been back to the gym about 2 months.

EXCELLENT tutorial!
He’s not kidding about being careful not to rotate or sway the weight back or forth, I irritated my rotator cuff doing that many years ago and couldn’t work much upper body for a couple of months. I generally stick with front barbell presses now but use dumbells as a change of pace then and again but with more focus on the movement.

he says 25s are comfortable so no one gets discouraged, really im sure he does somewhere around 70+ dumbells. all you people who brag that you can do 35s for this, so what. keep it to yourself, its not heavy.

He must be fibbing, he’s quite a big guy I comfortably press 22kg dumbbells that’s like 50lbs each dumbbell.. and I’m not as muscular as this guy. I think he’s doing it to make the viewers feel more confident, good idea actually.
