Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Know About Weight Lifting Tips

Your muscles need 48 hours to recover after a weight training workout. During this period the muscle development you are training for takes place – each time you work them out your muscles should come back that bit stronger. You need to allow the time for this muscle recovery and should leave at least 48 hours after working a muscle before you work it again.

Caution should be exercised if the hand-behind-the-head position is used during sit-ups or crunches. Don’t confuse neck movement for spine articulation. Some individuals with a higher risk of neck injury may need to keep their neck in a neutral position so the added weight can be placed on the upper chest, just below the neck. Incidentally the chance of neck injury may be increased when the exerciser places the hands higher behind the head and attempts to throw the body upward, jerking the head forward with greater force than to which the neck is accustomed.

Most important thing you need to do before starting any weight lifting exercise. You, and you alone, need to determine exactly what it is that you want to get out of your weight lifting exercise routine. Is it losing a specific amount of fat? Building strength or lean muscle? Is it for an athletic event? Is it to improve your physical appearance? Is it to improve your health? The bottom line is that you have to determine exactly what it is you want to accomplish.

Most people think why grip and what the heck are finishers? I focus all my clients on real world strength or functional strength. By training the grip you will have more wrist control (less injury) and also you will be able to focus more and that will allow you to recruit more muscle fibers thus making you stronger. Finishers are stuff that is functional. After a hard leg session go out and push your car around the block. I have my clients do plate clean and press, carry sand bags either in front of them or on there shoulder, or do the dreaded Drill Instructor special (this consists of 5-10 minutes of push ups, situps, jumping jacks, deep knee bends, and running in place). Principle of progressive overload.

One of the fundamentals of resistance exercise is Progressive overload means that you increase the workload gradually over time as your muscles accommodate to the resistance with the objective of gaining strength and/or mass. For example, suppose that you’ve been lifting biceps curls for two weeks with 12 pounds, 10 repetitions, and then at week three, 12 pounds is easy and you can lift more. According to the principle of progressive overload, at this point, you would increase the weight if strength improvement is your goal. Your strength will remain the same if you keep the weight the same.

Pre-Fatigue Technique – This technique is when the smaller muscle group is

completely fatigued before super-setting with the compound movement. That way the larger muscles will take over and force the already fatigued smaller muscle group to complete more repetitions. Thus, an overload response occurs. A great example of this is doing leg extensions to momentary muscle failure followed immediately by leg presses.

Along the same lines, don’t lift more weight than you are capable of, especially if there is no spotter on hand. You can seriously injure yourself, and it could end your lifting career. Unless you are competing, try to stick with weights you can do at least 5-6 reps with without killing yourself. You’ll get the same results as you would have struggling to push out one rep.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – What You Need To Know About Treadmills Before You Buy

The home treadmill has experienced substantial growth over the past few years. Treadmills are a large investment financially and in your fitness, therefore much thought and preparation should go into the purchase of a new treadmill. The great attraction of a home treadmill is being able to exercise whenever you want to, regardless of the weather.

AC motors that are found in some treadmill units run at one continuous speed and rely on a transmission to regulate speed whereas units powered by DC motors use variable voltage to regulate the speed at which the belt spins. A well-constructed treadmill is a piece of home exercise equipment that every member of your family can enjoy. A few treadmill models are powered by the user rather than a motor.

Using a heart rate monitor enables a treadmill to automatically adjust the speed and/or the incline to keep your heart rate within the most optimum zone. One of the key things to remember is that the larger motors tend to run cooler and usually require less repair and maintenance. Most treadmills come with an electronic console that displays workout feedback such as speed, distance traveled, time you’ve been working out and calories burned.

Notice that some treadmill heart rate monitors clip onto an ear or, for more accurate readings, strap on to the chest. The console indicates belt speed and other factors, such as heart rate, mph, distance, etc. Many of the treadmills available have the ability to add an incline to your workout to duplicate running or walking uphill, therefore increasing the intensity of a workout.

The monitor indicates belt speed and other factors, such as heart rate, mph, and distance. Safety features on a treadmill are especially important if you plan to work out alone or if you have small children who might accidentally start up the treadmill.

Treadmills are a very important investment, regardless of the price; if it’s not right for you, you don’t want to find this out after you’ve set the treadmill up at home. Make sure to add in the cost of shipping when purchasing a treadmill online; quality models can be heavy, but some manufacturers do offer free shipping.

Noise from the smallest repetitive sound can drive you nuts over a period of time and provide you with one more reason not to exercise. The taller a person is the longer their stride and so you’ll need to choose a treadmill with a longer and wider belt.

If you’re looking for a heavy-duty treadmill that can withstand running as well as walking, be prepared to spend more money. Consider bringing your water bottle and towel to the treadmill store and try out their treadmills. Most manufacturers of commercial treadmills found in gyms and health clubs also produce home versions.

The more incline variation offered in a treadmill unit, the more expensive the model will be. Do your research; treadmills are an important investment, regardless of the price, and if it’s not right for you, you don’t want to find out after you’ve set the treadmill up at home.

To make sure that your treadmill is sturdy and comfortable and doesn’t operate noisily, step on it and test it out before you buy. Buying a treadmill online will save you both time and money.

Probably the most important thing to look for in a treadmill is how sturdy it is. Commercial club treadmills are reliable and well constructed; do look into a home version.

Lack of wind resistance makes running on a treadmill slightly easier than it would otherwise be on an equal elevation grade outdoors. Be careful, any type of jogging or running, whether on a treadmill or not, puts strain on leg and hip joints.

Running or walking on a treadmill can be an effective way to workout compared to other complex cardiovascular exercises. To get even more workouts, consider making your treadmill into a walking office by adding a mini-platform to the side rails as originated by Dr. James Levine.

Choosing the best treadmill is easier than ever. And remember, home exercise treadmills are a large investment financially and in your fitness and much thought and preparation should go into the purchase of any new treadmill. Take time to do your research, the same way you would any major purchase and buying a treadmill won’t be difficult.

Elliptical Machines – What You Must Know About Elliptical Trainers Before You Buy

Choosing the best elliptical machine for you is more complex than just trying one out and deciding to buy it on the spot. There are many features to consider. And you’ll want to know what all of them are and what you need and what you can do without. In the history of fitness and aerobics, elliptical machines are the only aerobic products that have made a breakthrough. Checking Consumer Reports magazine is a good place to compare features and costs of elliptical machines.

The best way to determine which elliptical machine is the best fit for you is by making a list of all the features that you’re looking for in a trainer. You can find low cost or cheap elliptical machines with a little bit of research online. So if you’re thinking about home fitness and exercise equipment, seriously think about an elliptical trainer.

Most gyms, fitness clubs and even many homes have already acquired their own elliptical machines. Now that you’ve decided to choose an elliptical machine for your home gym you will be faced with many different machines and many different brands, and it can be very overwhelming when you are trying to choose the best machine for you. High-end elliptical machines, like SportsArt Fitness, Quantum Fitness, Precor, Life Fitness, and other brands found in specialty stores, can accommodate users up to 400 lbs (180 kg) and range in price from 00 to 00 (US).

An elliptical workout provides you with an overall body workout without all the strain. Elliptical exercise equipment combines the movements and benefits of hiking, cross country skiing, and biking. Because elliptical machines are a mix between the treadmill and a stair climber you have a great opportunity to cross-train.

Most elliptical trainers are smaller than a treadmill and can be more easily moved to clean or to store away when company is coming. An elliptical workout burns about 13 calories per minute. With quality elliptical exercise equipment, you feel the movement as fluid.

There are quite a few benefits for using an elliptical trainer but probably one of the most important benefits is the absence of impact. Elliptical trainer workouts are generally safe for the joints and provide a no-impact workout as opposed to a treadmill where your feet hit the deck with every step. With an elliptical machine there is no need to remove your feet from the foot pads so there will be little stress on your knees, ankles, hips and back. Because of this the elliptical machines are good for people who are disabled or who have serious mobility issues such as multiple sclerosis, where picking up numb feet and/or legs make it difficult to use a treadmill.

Elliptical trainers use the arms and the legs making it a cross trainer, in a smooth and natural motion. And elliptical machines give you a weight resistant workout which is very important because, weight resistant workouts burn calories faster and more efficiently. If you’re cramped for space at home, an elliptical trainer can be a great way to save space while getting an overall body workout.

Elliptical machines help give you a more healthy body by maintaining healthy bone density. The basic features of an elliptical machine include the drive system, the resistance system and the length of stride. According to the manufacturers, a general estimate of calories burned by an elliptical trainer can go up to as much as 720 calories an hour.

There are many benefits that can be enjoyed by using an elliptical machine. Elliptical machines will continue to develop and provide an optimum workout for its users. The best elliptical machines offer many advantages over other forms of exercise and other exercise equipment. And you can easily find the best discounts and low cost elliptical machine without sacrificing quality. Make sure to eliminate any expensive features you don’t need and check out reviews and ratings.

All About the Best Abdominal Exercises

It is only natural, most people want to look their best, and exercising their To discover over 27 more abdominal fat loss and metabolism-boosting secrets, muscles is usually a huge part of most fitness programs. If so much time and energy is going to be focused on this muscle group, it is a good idea to know what the best abdominal exercises are. There are many resources available for finding the best abdominal exercises, and plenty of people to say what they consider the best, so how can a person decide for themselves which truly are the best exercises for working their abdominal muscles?

First of all it is important to note that the best abdominal exercises are those that a person is willing to do. No matter how effective the exercise is, if a person isn’t going to do them consistently the exercise will not benefit that particular individual. It is also important to note that the best abdominal exercises do not necessarily require equipment to perform them, although some machines and equipment may work quite well for some people.

When a person decides on a fitness program that includes abdominal exercises, it is best to include abdominal exercises that work the different parts of the abdominal If a person simply concentrates on one area of their abdominal, there workout will not be as effective. The best abdominal exercises, combine working the oblique, which are the side muscles, the lower abdominals, the mid section and also the upper section.

Some of the most popular abdominal exercises are crunches. These are a very effective exercise and very convenient since they can be performed anywhere without any equipment. The next abdominal exercise that is also very popular and goes along with the basic crunch is the side crunch, which works out the oblique.

Some people consider the best abdominal exercises to be included in a Pilate’s workout. The reason for this is because in Pilates, the whole focus is on the core of the body which is the abdominal, or abdominal muscles. Every movement in a Pilate’s workout will work the abdominal muscles either directly or indirectly. These exercises can be found on the internet, either the exercise itself or video’s that can be purchased.

Another good exercise that some fitness experts considers to be one of the best abdominal exercises involves laying flat on your abdominal, leg straight and then raising your body up using your arms as your hands are clasped together and keeping your body straight as if doing a pushup. Hold this position as long as you can stand. This is an excellent movement to strengthen the whole abdominal.

Remember again though that just because one person may consider a specific exercise to be the best abdominal exercise that does not necessarily mean it is the best for everyone. Each person’s body is different and will respond differently to certain movements. Any one serious about working on the abdominal muscles will find it most helpful to try several different abdominal exercises and then determine which one they can both feel and see results with. If one exercise is simply too hard to do correctly, or does not feel like it has done anything for the muscle group worked, that exercise is clearly not the best and the person should find what works best for them.

Elliptical Machines are Very Effective in Bringing About Weight Loss

The very concept of elliptical exercise machines is to offer resistance as the feet and legs of the person using them move in the natural rhythm of a walk or a run while supporting the natural feel of the motion. Another reason why the elliptical exercise machines are more popular is that user can perform many exercises to the various part of the body within the same machine. All in all, elliptical exercise machines are not only great to work out at the gym with, but they are excellent to purchase for your homes also. If you are one of the many people who are overweight or even obese, elliptical exercise machines are a great way to get back in shape.

Elliptical Trainers

It is estimated that millions of Americans use elliptical trainers in their home gyms. Elliptical exercise machines are exercise machines that a person uses to simulate the walking or running motions of their legs and feet without moving in space and with minimal impact on the joints of the feet and legs. Elliptical exercise machines are advantageous because they are one of few types of home fitness equipment that offer a no/low impact workout. Elliptical Machines provide a full body workout with strength training and toning.

Home gym owners of any fitness level appreciate the low impact workouts and cardiovascular benefits of elliptical exercise machines. Some people compare the workout they get on elliptical exercise machines to pedaling on a stationary bike while standing up. The majority of elliptical exercise machines are equipped with upper handle bars that give users a truly total body workout. The best elliptical machines are, unsurprisingly, the more expensive ones.

Benefits of Elliptical Machines

If getting into shape and staying that way is on your agenda, don’t overlook the benefits of elliptical machines for helping you achieve your goal. The elliptical exercise machine offers many benefits over other more traditional forms of equipment. And for good reason: they provide many of the fitness, cardiovascular, and weight loss benefits of treadmills without the ‘wear and tear’ associated with running. Some Benefits of physical exercise with eliptical trainer are:

elliptical exercise machines are super fluid,

eliptical crosstrainers are very comfortable,

ellipticals are extremely effortless.

The benefits for your heart come from the fact that you are getting a total body workout and using many muscle groups. Weight bearing exercises like running, hiking and aerobics benefits the body in ways that non-weight bearing exercises like rowing and cycling cannot.

Cardiovascular Workouts

Whether you want to lose weight, firm up your body, or a combination of both, incorporating cardiovascular exercise into your workout routine is critical to your long-term success. Fitness experts agree that a weight-bearing workout is the best way to improve conditioning, increase bone density, strengthen muscles, and burn calories efficiently. When it comes to providing a great total body workout with a single machine, almost nothing can compare to working out on elliptical machines. The all over workout you get with elliptical cross trainers is well suited to many different fitness levels and it is easy to learn the proper techniques for using one.

Conclusion

Most people live busy lives and do not have several hours per day to devote to total body exercise, so an elliptical machine lets them get in a good workout in a minimal amount of time. Because most of these cross trainers work your upper body, elliptical exercise machines are beneficial in cardiovascular training and improving heart health. Ellipticals let you exercise your arms, chest, back and legs without putting a lot of stress on your joints. As you can see, elliptical exercise machines offer a large number of benefits over other types of fitness machines.

Weight bearing exercises such as strength training, jogging, running, and walking, can increase your body’s ability to function properly, stay healthy and reduce pain. Elliptical exercise machines are hard to beat when it comes to improving cardiovascular health. Find out more about Elliptical Machines and Weight Loss

The Top 5 Questions & Answers About Abdominal Exercises…

These are in my opinion the TOP 5 Questions asked regarding core workouts for strengthening and firming your abdominal muscles.

Question: Can You Exercise the Upper and Lower Abs Separately?

Answer: Although it may feel as though you can “isolate” the upper and lower abs (the rectus abdominis), you actually can’t contract one section independent of the other. Research that looked at the muscle activation while performing a basic crunch exercise found that you may feel more contraction in the upper abdomen because the muscle fibers in the upper part of the rectus abdominis shorten more than in the lower part of the muscle, but the entire muscle is, in fact, activated during the movement.

When you perform a reverse crunch (lifting the hips), the opposite happens; you feel more contraction in the lower part of the rectus abdominis even though the muscle fibers in the upper rectus abdominis are also contracting.

Additionally, when you stabilize the hips and only lift the torso during the crunch, there is greater muscle involvement in the upper rectus abdominis as well as the internal obliques. When you perform reverse crunches, there is more activation in the lower part of the rectus abdominis and more involvement of the external obliques.

Question: Can I Lose Belly Fat by Doing Lots of Crunches?

Answer: Unfortunately, no. Simply doing lots of crunches won’t reduce belly fat. The belief that you can lose body fat in a specific area by exercising the muscles just beneath that fat is called “spot reduction.” Spot reduction is a myth that has been disproved time and time again.

In 1984, researchers at the University of Massachusetts concluded that abdominal exercises do not decrease the amount or size of belly fat. In this study men did the equivalent of 5,000 sit-ups for 27 days. The researchers measured body fat in the abdomen, buttocks and upper back during the study. If spot reduction worked, the men should have lost fat only in the abdominal area because the buttocks and upper back are not worked during sit-ups. However there was no change in the thickness of abdominal fat or waist size. Biopsies showed there was no significant change in the diameter of abdominal fat cells either.

What ab exercises can do is tone and firm the muscles, but to reduce abdominal fat takes more than just ab exercise. You need a balanced fitness routine that includes cardiovascular exercise, resistance training, and a sensible diet.

Question: What Is the Best Abdominal Exercise?

Answer: One study that looked at the best and worst ab exercises concluded that:

1) The Bicycle Crunch Exercise was the best for strengthening the rectus abdominis

2) The Captains Chair Exercise is the best for strengthening the internal obliques and the external obliques

However, it’s important to keep in mind that there is no single abdominal exercise that challenges all the abdominal muscles in the most effective way, and the best way to work the abs is with a variety of abdominal exercises.

Question: Does the Order of Ab Exercises Matter?

Answer: Although some programs insist that the order of abdominal exercise is the key to getting results, there is no research that backs this up. In fact, research shows that the opposite may be true. The Principal of adaptation explains how our body constantly adapts to new training routines. Over time and with practice we become very efficient and master these techniques. If you continue to do the same exercise, in the same order in a few weeks or months the routine becomes ineffective and we hit a plateau. To break this cycle, modify your routines every 1-3 months. To modify your exercise routine, change one of more of the following:

1) The Specific Exercises Performed

2) The Number of Repetitions or Sets Performed

3) The Order of the Exercises

4) The Number of Exercises Done Each Session

5) The Amount of Weight or Resistance Used

6) The Speed, or Tempo of the Exercises

Question: Can I Use Weights When Exercising the Abs?

Answer: Yes, but before you add resistance with weights you should be able to perform the exercises properly with good technique. The most effective ab exercises start with proper body position, controlled movements and focus on contracting the specific muscles you want to work. Better results come from slow, controlled repetitions. Once you have good form, you can begin adding small hand held weights or a medicine ball to increase the resistance.

The Essential Thing You Must Know About The Best Abdominal Exercise

The most essential thing to know about the best abdominal exercise is that there is no one quick fix ab-sculpting miracle routine that will overnight give you the sexy abs that you see on TV and in magazines.

To develop your abs you will need movements that work the 3 biggest areas of your abdominal muscles.  You will need to work the upper abs, lower abs, and the obliques.  It is a common misconception that you can do isolation movements to help eliminate belly fat and expose your tummy muscles.  Although it is true that certain movements will help to develop your abdominal muscles, only reducing your body fat will show off your sculpted abs.

Proper nutrition and a varied full body workout routine will help to reduce your overall body fat ratio and at the same time work your core muscles.  You should strive for a body fat ratio of 10 percent or less otherwise your abs probably will not show.  That being said, this will not guarantee that your abs will have the appearance that you are hoping for.  Everybody does not have the genetic makeup to develop the six or eight-pack abs that have become so popular in marketing images.

Even if the end result doesn’t look like the images you are striving for I will bet that you will still look a lot better, feel better, and be healthier as a result.  It is always a great idea to fuel our bodies with proper nutrition and lower our body fat.

The essential thing to remember about the best abdominal exercise is that there are no short cuts.  It takes time and consistency using proper nutrition and exercise.  To learn about proper science-backed exercise and nutrition feel free to scout around at http://EasyFitnessandNutrition.info they have a ton of great information there.

Ross Gray is a middle age average guy who has taken an interest in fitness and nutrition in his mid-forties. He always welcomes the chance to share the knowledge he is constantly acquiring with those who might benefit from his studies.

Treadmll Ratings: What Most Buyers Don’t Know About Treadmill Ratings

If you’re buying a treadmill, chances are you’ll want to research before you buy. Everyone wants to get the best deal for a discount price. They also want to find the best treadmill to suit their workout needs.

So you’ll probably be interested in looking at various treadmill ratings or reviews. But why are there so many different ratings and which one is the most accurate? Here’s a few things most buyers don’t know about treadmill ratings.

There are really 2 types of treadmill ratings:

1) Consumer Ratings

2) Expert Ratings

User Treadmill Ratings:

Consumer treadmill ratings are done by the layperson who has bought and used the specific treadmill. Many websites allow anyone to go online and post a review of their treadmill.

Customer reviews and ratings can be very valuable when searching for a treadmill – however keep in mind several things:

#1) No treadmill has a 100% perfect track record. Even the BEST treadmill manufacturers sometimes make a dud.

And it’s usually the people that have had BAD experiences that leave negative reviews of their treadmills, not the many that have had good experiences with the same treadmill.

They have every right to do this and hopefully the treadmill manufacturers read these reviews and do something about them. Just remember that one bad review doesn’t prove it’s a low quality brand.

#2) The treadmill industry is growing more competitive each year. And marketing is a huge portion of the treadmill industry since treadmill manufacturers KNOW you’re going to research treadmill ratings before you buy.

So while I’m not making any accusations, I have read ‘customer reviews’ that are clearly NOT written by the average buyer. They sound like they’re written by somebody working for the competition – someone well versed in the art of sales psychology and who knows more about treadmills than the average person. Again, not making any accusations here – just keep this in mind when reading user ratings online.

Rule of Thumb: Use common sense. If it sounds like it’s written by a treadmill salesperson, take the treadmill review with a grain of salt.

Expert Treadmill Ratings:

There are also expert treadmill ratings. These are the ratings written by the experts in the fitness industry. People like Consumer Reports, Runner’s World, Consumer Guide, Men’s Health, Prevention Magzine are just a few out there. These people rate and review various treadmills at various times in the year.

While these ratings are much less likely to be tainted by biased reviewers, here are a few cautions to keep in mind while reading them:

#1) Each rater has a different rating system and may rate treadmills on such factors as price, cushioning, stability, quietness, belt area, warranty, console, electronics, programs, incline and quality of parts.

So while one reviewer may put more emphasis on cushioning the other may put more emphasis on warranty. It’s nothing to get confused over – just understand that different experts value different features. They’ll usually have an area where they list exactly how they rated the treadmills and which features they valued highly in their review.

#2) Expert ratings also usually don’t have time to look at EVERY treadmill brand on the market. Nobody does. We’ve been reviewing treadmills for over 3 years and we still haven’t covered all the brands.

So just because a certain brand isn’t in the ratings, doesn’t make it a poor quality brand. Try to find other reviews on a brand if you can’t find it in your favorite expert ratings list.

One last thing: Many treadmill ratings are also based on comparison to other similarly priced treadmills on the market.

So if you have a 00 treadmill that gets 5 stars – that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s better than a 00 treadmill that gets 4 stars. It means that compared to other 00 treadmills it is one of the best values.

By remembering these things when sifting through treadmill ratings, you’re less likely to be confused. And it will be easier to choose the best quality treadmill for your needs.

The Truth About Six Pack Abs and the Best Abdominal Exercises

If you want big biceps then you can do bicep curls and pull-ups etc. These exercises focus on the muscles you want to develop, so they seem like the obvious choice.

So if you want to build those sexy, ripped six pack abs then the natural choice is to focus on exercises that target your abdominal muscles. But did you know that it is almost impossible to get six pack abs using crunches alone?

Let’s think about it for a second, how many crunches, or other ab specific exercises do you do per week? Do you have six pack abs yet? If you did, you probably wouldn’t be reading this article.

The truth about six pack abs is that exercises that work multiple muscle groups at a time, rather than abdominal specific exercises, are actually better at developing your six pack.

But why is it like this? Why do muscle specific exercises work so well for your biceps, triceps and chest, but don’t work at all for your abs?

Well I’m glad you asked. The reason why we aren’t all walking around with a visible six pack isn’t because of the size of your abdominal muscles; it is to do with the amount of fat that you have covering them.

Exercises that isolate a specific muscle group are nowhere near as intense and those that work several muscle groups at a time. So they burn less calories during, and more importantly, after each workout.

Burning fewer calories also means that you are burning less fat. So you can do as many crunches as you like, and you’ll have an amazing six pack. But nobody will ever see it because it is hiding under a layer of belly flab.

Have you ever come across the guys at the gym that walk around like they own the place? They have bulging muscles, and you can make out the outline of their abs through their gym shirt?

Well the next time you see one of these dudes, go over to him and ask what abdominal exercises he does. Some guys will tell you that they don’t do any, and some guys will tell you exactly what they do. But almost nobody will tell you that the reason they have such defined abs is because of all of the other multi-joint exercises that make up their workout routine.

I guarantee you, maybe 1 out of 20 guys will actually tell you to focus on burning the layer of fat covering your abs before you try to build up the size of your abdominal muscles.

Some guys don’t want you to know their secret, and some just don’t get the science of it all. But if you find one of those rare mentors at the gym, make sure you make friends with him (without being weird about it), because his knowledge will be invaluable to you.

The truth about six pack abs creator, Mike Geary, is the 1 cool gym dude you are searching for. Mike lives in New Jersey I believe, but for everyone that can’t make it to one of the gyms in New Jersey, Mike’s Truth About Abs program will teach you exactly which exercises will help you strip off that belly fat, and get ripped six pack abs.

Mike Geary’s The Truth About Six Pack Abs program has helped over 260 000 people all over the world unlock the secret to six pack abs. Mike’s program isn’t about spending hours at the gym, or crazy fad diets. Learn Mike’s scientifically proven tips and get the six pack abs you’ve always wanted.

If You Have Reached Forty Maybe You Should Be Thinking About Starting Shoulder Physical Therapy Exercises

Shoulder injuries are not exclusively limited to the over forties, but if you are at risk of a mid-life crisis you are also at a higher than normal risk of injuring your shoulder. Approximately a third of us will suffer a problematic shoulder injury once we get beyond our fortieth birthday. I managed do delay mine until past fifty and had I known then what I know now, I could probably have managed to avoid it altogether.

As we grow older, our posture changes, we do not carry ourselves in the same way at forty as we did in our twenties so it should be no surprise that our shoulders change at the same time. Because of the complexity of the shoulder joint, any change in how we hold ourselves can result in shoulder problems.

The most common shoulder injury is a rotator cuff tear. This is a group of four muscles that help to pull the upper arm bone into the socket of the shoulder, doing two different roles, helping with rotational movement and also helping to stabilise the joint. Although these are relatively small muscles they are very important and problems with the rotator cuff can cause some serious problems.

Weakness and pain when you lift your arm above your shoulder either out to the side or front, weakness in the shoulder and arm, pain when sleeping are just some of the symptoms. Treatment will involve rest along with treatment of any inflammation using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and ice packs.. If the pain persists you may well end up having steroid injections to reduce the inflammation.

Once the swelling and pain are under control you will need to start shoulder physical therapy exercises to strengthen your rotator cuff and avoid future injuries. The annoying thing is that these exercises are the self same exercises that you would have done to train your shoulder and strengthen it to avoid injury in the first place.

Having gone through the inconvenience and pain of a torn rotator cuff and discovered shoulder physical therapy exercises that sorted it out for me, I now do ten minutes of shoulder exercises on a daily basis just to make sure that my shoulders stay fit and healthy. It has also woken me up to the fact that as we get a bit older we do need to make an effort to keep supple as well as fit. Next step Yoga classes

Stop Worrying about How to Build Big Biceps

For some reason, how to build big biceps has become a passion for many body builders. There seems to be a joy in these guys seeing a little bit of “pump” in their arms. It’s an obsession, and the attention focused upon the biceps alone, is taking time and attention away from the other more beneficial aspects of weight training, which tend to address the building of biceps as almost a byproduct. Let’s, for a moment, address five common problems and misconceptions about the best way to build big biceps.

1. More isn’t necessarily better. If you think that doing four sets is better than doing three sets, then you must also think that doing twenty sets would be even better? Remember, less is often more. If you happen to be a hard gainer, you goal shouldn’t be to exhaust yourself at each workout, but to simply moderately exceed the demands of you previous workout.

2. Great biceps while training; less so after. Even though it doesn’t translate to good long-term results, excessive training in the gym will give you some really build biceps fast, but only while you’re in the gym. Once you leave the gym, and the blood has withdrawn from the biceps, they will return to normal. If you only wish to look good while working out, go for it. If you’re looking for long-term improvement, then slow down.

3. Neglecting overall strength. Spending too much time and concern over building big biceps could be a great waste of time and energy. Many of the best body builders spend almost no time at all on their biceps. The biceps simply benefit from many of the other exercises that are employed to develop overall strength and muscle mass. If you spend time increasing the weights on you rows, chin ups, and pull ups, your biceps will participate and benefit greatly, without special attention.

4. Muscle-boring exercises. Many who are focused upon how to build big biceps fast tend to perform only two routine exercises: barbell curls and dumbbell curls. There is nothing wrong with these two exercises, but when using the same weights week after week, your muscles are experiencing no new demand. Slowly increase your weights until you are doing barbell curls using 110 pounds, and dumbbell curves using 50 pounds. Also try the following variations.

* Bicep Exercise 1: Challenge the bicep’s outer portion by placing your elbows outward and using a very close grip.
* Bicep Exercise 2: Challenge the bicep’s inner portion by using a very wide grip on the bar and digging your elbows into your side.
* Bicep Exercise 3: Challenge the brachialis and brachioradialis with traditional hammer curls and reverse curls.

5. Insufficient muscle tension. The bicep muscles benefit from being kept in constant tension. Never give them a chance to breathe or relax when exercising them. Keep the bar moving constantly without stopping at the top or the bottom of the lift. This deprives the muscle of oxygen causing a spike in anabolic hormones that will promote muscle growth.

Hopefully, the above problems description will help you to cease obsessing over how to build big biceps. They will benefit from your general exercises more readily than you had thought. Consider these problems and your training attitude when you rethink your approach to building up those biceps.

Some Benefits of physical exercise with eliptical trainer are:

elliptical exercise machines are super fluid,

eliptical crosstrainers are very comfortable,

ellipticals are extremely effortless.
