Question by X: Any good shoulder exercises that are high impact/induce hypertrophy?
Anyone got any good ones? I know running and jumping is great for adding on bone mass to the leg bones, but I don’t really know any good ones, for say, shoulders. It would be especially great if they added bone mass to the shoulders width. Thanks!

I know you can’t spot train, but I work out everyday and the only abs machine my gym has is the equivalent of a crunch. I want to work out my abs more, but what is there besides a crunch. Especially for my obliques, which the crunch machine at the gym can’t get.

an excellent exercise, you can do it in front of your TV: sit on a stool, and put your toes under something (piece of heavy furniture, for example). In your hands hold a little dumbbell. Please, make sure that it is not very heavy, start with one kilo, for example, or you will damage your back and spine! Slowly move the upper part of your body back, until it’s parallel with the ground. Stop for a second and move it back to the sitting position. Repeat ten times. Every week add to the number of repetitions. You will see the results in a week, guaranteed! You will see or feel under the fat – if you have any – six pack and muscles. Dumbbells do wonders. Much better than these crunches – I came up to three hundreds and there was no results AT ALL. With the dumbbells you will see it in a week.

It’s a great exercise as it is explosive and involves pretty much every muscle. Just make sure you focus on your form. The clean is easy to injure yourself on if you’re not careful.

I know you burn as many calories as on a treadmill. That treadmills are great for fat burning. Are exercise bikes great for fat burning? (They do burn fat obviously, but alot? same calories so..)
So exercise bikes dont burn your abdomen/belly fat?? thats what im using it for.

They’re better because they’re not as boring, so you’ll use it more. I own both, and I hate the treadmill. I haven’t used it since I first got it. I use the bike all the time.

you need to strengthen your biceps and triceps area. so any weight training exercises such as: pull ups, bicep arm curls, push ups, ect… would really help you out. take 4lbs dumbbells and lift up above Ur head and bring it down 15 times in a set 5sets can tone Ur arms and do curling with weights.

The technical side of my game is pretty good, but I really want to improve my strength/conditioning. I’m 5’6″ and only 120 pounds, so needless to say, I’m not as much of a physical presence in the box as I should be. What are some good keeper-specific exercises I could do to become stronger and improve my game? Anything that would help my vertical jump in particular is preferable. Thanks!

i’m 6 tf and 180 lbs, and being vertical is very important. do a lot of lunges, explosive squats which is when u get down, and explode up as fast as u can and your feet should be in the air,and leg strengthing excerises…a simple one is bounce the ball hard and jump up and get the ball like a high ball with a knee up. important thing is reps, doing it over and over and over again. also jump and tap the crossbar switching legs. also on stairs hop over 2 or 3 steps on both feet, then hop up and down each step on one foot. hope it gives you ideas…

you want to switch to heavier weight and lower reps

if you want to lose weight then kept rest periods short, go for about 30 seconds between sets, this makes it more aerobic.

in terms of exercise the three best movements are:
deadlifts (back and core)
bench press (chest)
squats (legs)

do three weights session a week and have one of these exercises in each as the main exercise

this is my routine if it helps

I might do it on high intensity, for short periods of time. Would this be more suited for working the muscles without losing weight?

You won’t lose weight as long as you’re eating a variety of protein, carbs, and healthy fats. Just be sure you’re eating enough. You actually should gain weight, because you are building your muscles.

contradictory to popular belief you have to do cardio to burn that excess flab off your abs, then your core exercises will show results. if you work out your abs, they will get stronger, but the layer of fat just sits on top of your muscles and prevents them from looking good.
