Buying A Treadmill – 3 Essential Tips

If you’re buying a treadmill, chances are you’ve done lots of research already. You probably know exactly what makes up a high quality treadmill and have an idea of which features you want in your unit.

But even with this knowledge many people still fall prey to slick treadmill deals that end up costing them in the long run.

In order to keep that from happening to you, here are 3 essential buying tips to make sure you choose the very best treadmill for you.

#1) Not All Treadmill Brands Are Created Equal

I recently had a gentleman e-mail me asking for advice on which treadmill he should buy. He had narrowed it down to 3 choices:

Brand A: 2.5 HP motor 9

Brand B: 1.75 HP motor 9

Brand C: 2.0 HP motor 99

He asked me which treadmill I would buy. He was clearly leaning towards Brand A.

This was the natural choice for most people and it makes sense: get the most for the least. Or get the most motor power for the least amount of money.

However, my answer surprised him. I told him if it were my choice, I would go with Brand C for 99. Here’s why:

Although the motor power is lower than Brand A and the price is higher, Brand C makes an overall better treadmill. Why?

Brand C has a reputation for making high quality treadmills and backing them up with extensive warranties, including a lifetime warranty on the motor. It can afford to give such lengthy warranties because it knows that it makes a quality product that probably WON’T break down – even over a lifetime.

Brand A on the other hand offers a 90-day motor warranty. What does that tell you about the quality of parts?

Although motor power is a good feature to consider when buying a treadmill – you have to be careful. Look at it in the context of the whole treadmill – including the brand.

Not all treadmill brands are created equal. Some treadmill brands use extremely high quality materials. Others well, don’t.

Make sure to look beyond just the bare numbers when choosing a treadmill. Look at the whole picture to find the best treadmill for you.

#2) Don’t Always Believe What The Salesperson Tells You

Get it in writing. This isn’t to put down any salesperson – but they are human. They do make mistakes, and sometimes this can end up costing you.

I had another lady e-mail me asking for advice on choosing a treadmill. She’d narrowed it down to several and was leaning towards one in particular (let’s call it Treadmill X).

She had been told by a salesperson in the store that this Treadmill X (for 9) came with a lifetime warranty on the motor.

This lady was smart. She was looking at the whole treadmill picture. The price was excellent. The motor power was average (1.75 HP). And who can pass up a lifetime motor warranty?

But wait a minute.

I was fairly familiar with this treadmill brand and knew something was off.

This particular treadmill brand never gives lifetime motor warranties – ever. Not even on their commercial treadmills. So why would they offer a lifetime motor warranty on one of their economy treadmills?

I voiced my concerns to her and wasn’t surprised to hear back a couple of days later that the salesperson had actually been mistaken about the lifetime warranty.

If she had bought this treadmill simply based on what the salesperson said, she might have gotten a nasty surprise – especially since this particular treadmill brand is known for being extremely costly to repair.

Don’t always trust what the salesperson says. Make sure to get it in writing before you buy!

#3 Forget the Price Tag – Look at the REAL Price Of The Treadmill

Price is probably one of the most important factors when buying a treadmill. But sometimes the price of the treadmill can be misleading.

For example, let’s say you’re looking at Brand A in a store with a price of 9. Pretty good price right?

A much better deal than Brand B – sold online – at 9.

But look closer at Brand A. Brand A only comes with a 90 day parts and labor warranty so you need to buy added coverage. You pay for a 2 year extended motor warranty.

So Brand A’s total cost is now 9 (with a 2 year motor warranty)

Brand B is still 9 (with a 10 year motor warranty already included)

Overall, you figure that Brand A is still the better deal since it’s cheaper.

But look closer. You need to pay shipping costs for Brand A. Shipping costs from most stores usually run you about 0.

Brand B, since it is sold online offers free shipping (most online treadmill sellers do).

So Brand A’s total cost is now 8 (with a 2 year motor warranty)

Brand B is still 9 (with a 10 year motor warranty)

With Brand A, 9 has gone to buy the treadmill, has gone to buy the warranty and 0 has gone into shipping.

With Brand B, 9 has gone to buy the treadmill (warranty included).

So which treadmill do you think actually gives you the most value for your money?

And don’t forget that many online treadmill stores don’t charge sales tax. The store that sells Brand A does. That technically makes Brand A MORE expensive than Brand B.

So when comparing treadmills, make sure to consider the TOTAL COST of each treadmill before you buy.

By keeping these 3 tips in mind when purchasing a treadmill:

- Not all treadmill brands are created equal

- Don’t believe what the salesperson tells you – get it in writing

and

- Look at the REAL price of the treadmill

you’ll be well on your way to choosing the best treadmill investment for you.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Know About Weight Lifting Tips

Your muscles need 48 hours to recover after a weight training workout. During this period the muscle development you are training for takes place – each time you work them out your muscles should come back that bit stronger. You need to allow the time for this muscle recovery and should leave at least 48 hours after working a muscle before you work it again.

Caution should be exercised if the hand-behind-the-head position is used during sit-ups or crunches. Don’t confuse neck movement for spine articulation. Some individuals with a higher risk of neck injury may need to keep their neck in a neutral position so the added weight can be placed on the upper chest, just below the neck. Incidentally the chance of neck injury may be increased when the exerciser places the hands higher behind the head and attempts to throw the body upward, jerking the head forward with greater force than to which the neck is accustomed.

Most important thing you need to do before starting any weight lifting exercise. You, and you alone, need to determine exactly what it is that you want to get out of your weight lifting exercise routine. Is it losing a specific amount of fat? Building strength or lean muscle? Is it for an athletic event? Is it to improve your physical appearance? Is it to improve your health? The bottom line is that you have to determine exactly what it is you want to accomplish.

Most people think why grip and what the heck are finishers? I focus all my clients on real world strength or functional strength. By training the grip you will have more wrist control (less injury) and also you will be able to focus more and that will allow you to recruit more muscle fibers thus making you stronger. Finishers are stuff that is functional. After a hard leg session go out and push your car around the block. I have my clients do plate clean and press, carry sand bags either in front of them or on there shoulder, or do the dreaded Drill Instructor special (this consists of 5-10 minutes of push ups, situps, jumping jacks, deep knee bends, and running in place). Principle of progressive overload.

One of the fundamentals of resistance exercise is Progressive overload means that you increase the workload gradually over time as your muscles accommodate to the resistance with the objective of gaining strength and/or mass. For example, suppose that you’ve been lifting biceps curls for two weeks with 12 pounds, 10 repetitions, and then at week three, 12 pounds is easy and you can lift more. According to the principle of progressive overload, at this point, you would increase the weight if strength improvement is your goal. Your strength will remain the same if you keep the weight the same.

Pre-Fatigue Technique – This technique is when the smaller muscle group is

completely fatigued before super-setting with the compound movement. That way the larger muscles will take over and force the already fatigued smaller muscle group to complete more repetitions. Thus, an overload response occurs. A great example of this is doing leg extensions to momentary muscle failure followed immediately by leg presses.

Along the same lines, don’t lift more weight than you are capable of, especially if there is no spotter on hand. You can seriously injure yourself, and it could end your lifting career. Unless you are competing, try to stick with weights you can do at least 5-6 reps with without killing yourself. You’ll get the same results as you would have struggling to push out one rep.

Home gyms, or multi-gyms, can be useful exercise equipment to own, offering the chance to enjoy a total body workout in the privacy of your home. With a good fitness system in your residence, you no longer have to suffer the inconvenience and expense of going to a health club to exercise.

The downside? Shopping for one of these machines can be a confusing, time-consuming process. There are so many questions to address.  For example, how many exercises should each machine provide?  Should you get the optional attachments?  What should you look for in a warranty?

Buying a piece of fitness equipment as large as a multi-station gym is a major investment, and the time you spend researching will be well spent.  Here are five key tips that will help you save money and get the best equipment for your needs.

1) Evaluate available space

A home gym will require as much square footage as a wall-unit entertainment center.  Before you go shopping, take measurements of the height, length, and width of the area in which you’re planning to set up the equipment.

Plan on having enough space to maneuver around the machine, too.  There’s nothing more annoying than bumping into walls and furniture while you’re trying to work out. If you can set aside an entire room, section of your garage, or corner of your basement to your gym, that would work best.

2) Range of exercises

Most home gym systems offer the capability to perform dozens of exercises.  Having variety is good — it will keep your workouts interesting.

At the minimum, the equipment should include a chest/shoulder press, high pulley, low pulley, leg extension, and leg curl/exercise attachments.

Don’t let a slick salesperson talk you into buying extra attachments just yet.  Get the machine home first, use it regularly for a few months, and buy the add-ons once you’re certain you’ll use them.

3) Resistance Type

The majority of gyms offer fixed weight stacks, plate-loaded systems, or rods.  Each type of resistance feels a bit different.  This is when you’ll benefit the most from visiting a sports equipment store in person and trying out various models.

A basic unit should include at least 200 pounds of resistance.  Although it’s good to have the option to upgrade to additional poundage in the future, unless you’re training for a power lifting tournament, it’s unlikely that you’ll ever need more than 200 pounds.

4) Construction Quality

The frame should be heavy, and sturdy enough to resist wobbling.  Look for equipment constructed of tubular or rectangular steel, as these tend to be the most durable.

5) Warranty Coverage

A solid warranty provides 10 years of coverage for the frame, 1 year for moving parts, and 90 days for upholstery. Should you get an extended service plan? Honestly, if you purchase a quality product, you won’t need one, because the better home gyms on the market will usually include a comprehensive, long-term warranty.

Best Elliptical Machine Tips To Save You Money

In the history of fitness and aerobics, elliptical machines are the only aerobic products that have made a major breakthrough. The elliptical machine is quickly gaining popularity both in and out of the gym.

The higher quality elliptical machines offer a more natural feel and comfortable stride because they are larger and more robustly constructed. If you’ve decided to choose an elliptical machine for your home gym you’ll be faced with many different machines and many different brands and it can be overwhelming when you’re trying to choose the best machine.

When shopping for an elliptical machine you will probably want to find the best machine of the best quality while saving as much money as possible. Buying an elliptical machine online is not difficult when you’ve spent sufficient time comparing features by reading reviews, rankings and ratings.

The elliptical machine is an excellent choice for home equipment, especially if you don’t want the traditional treadmill or exercise bike. You can find low cost or cheap elliptical machines with a little bit of research online. The higher-end elliptical machines, like the SportsArt Fitness, Quantum Fitness, Precor, Life Fitness, and other brands found in specialty stores, can accommodate users up to 400 lbs. (180 kg) and range in price from 00 to 00.

There are many benefits of using an elliptical trainer but probably one of the most important is the absence of any impact on the body. The basic features of elliptical machines include the drive system, the resistance system and the length of stride. While using the machine gives you a no-impact workout, the resistance exercise helps to build bone density and fight osteoporosis.

Elliptical machines came onto the scene just a few years ago and they’ve been gaining in popularity ever since. They are proven to provide workouts that are best for the cardiovascular system. Elliptical trainers use the arms and the legs, making it a cross trainer, in a smooth and natural motion.

The machines give you a weight resistant workout, which is important because you burn calories faster and more efficiently. With this quality exercise equipment, you feel the movement as fluid.

One of the reasons that ellipticals are so popular is because they provide an excellent aerobic workout with minimal stress on the joints. It’s best to look for a trainer that has a number of different programs preset into the computer. They have also been proven to offer a lower ‘Perceived Rate of Exertion’ whenever you’re working out. The machine uses all the muscles of the lower leg and combines the movements and benefits of hiking, cross country skiing, and biking.

Buyers can choose from a wide variety of elliptical machines that are now sold in the marketplace. Eliminating any features you don’t need will save you money. Compare prices online where you’ll find a competitive market and prices competitive. Machines are often cheaper because middlemen have been eliminated.

Best Elliptical Machine Shopping Tips

The best way to determine which elliptical machine is the best fit for you is by first making a detailed list of all the features that you want in a trainer. Higher-end elliptical machines, like the SportsArt Fitness, Quantum Fitness, Precor, Life Fitness, and other brands found in specialty stores, can accommodate users up to 400 lbs., and range in price from 00 to 00. Assuming you’ve decided to choose an elliptical machine for your home gym you’ll be faced with many different machines and brands, and it can be overwhelming when you’re trying to choose the best machine for you.

If you’re only just thinking about some type home fitness equipment but haven’t decided what kind, seriously consider an elliptical trainer. You can find low cost or cheap elliptical machines with just a little bit of research online. Many of the consumer models found in sporting good stores and retail stores can only handle users weighing no more than 250 lbs and cost about 00 or less.

So when you go shopping for a machine, do you want to buy something expensive or do you want a low cost or discounted elliptical machine? Because of the fact that the elliptical machine is a low/no impact machine it’s a perfect choice for people who are suffering from or are recovering from joint problems such as in the knees, ankles, hips or in the back. With an elliptical machine you don’t need to remove your feet from the foot pads so there will be little stress on your knees, ankles, hips and back.

When you go shopping online or offline you’ll want to find the best machine of the best quality while saving as much money as possible. Generally you can save a lot more money online. Many manufacturers offer free shipping and you can avoid the middleman, resulting in a lower cost. You may want to try out a few machines in your local sporting goods stores to get a better idea of what you want when you shop online.

While using an elliptical machine gives you a no-impact workout, the resistance exercise it gives you helps to build bone density and fight off osteoporosis. Another great thing about this trainer is that you can move at a comfortable speed while allowing for the occasional burst of high intensity movement. It’s best to look for an elliptical trainer that has a wide variety of programs preset in the computer.

With quality elliptical exercise equipment, you the movement will feel very fluid. And these trainers have also been proven to offer a lower ‘Perceived Rate of Exertion’ whenever you’re working out. It uses all the muscles in the lower legs.

Elliptical exercise equipment combines the movements and resulting benefits of hiking, cross country skiing, and biking. There are a lot of very good brands of elliptical cross trainers on the market today.

Studies have shown that because elliptical machines optimize energy expenditure, the average person will burn more calories. The basic features of ellipticals include the drive system, the resistance system and the length of the stride.

If you’re cramped for space at home or have a small home gym, an elliptical trainer can be a great way to save space and get an overall body workout. So an elliptical that folds away for storage purposes may work the best for you, without sacrificing any features you need that is. One of the many reasons the trainers are so popular is because they provide an excellent aerobic workout with minimal stress on the joints.

Ellipticals will continue to develop and provide an optimum workout for their users. The best machines offer many advantages over other forms of exercise and other exercise equipment. And comparing elliptical machine reviews, ratings and rankings such as in Consumer Reports magazine is an important first step to saving a lot of money while still getting the best features.

Some Of The Best Tips For Buying a Treadmill

Basic treadmill models can start at 0 and can go up to 00. Treadmills have become the hottest home exercise equipment choice. There are many competing models of treadmills to choose between.

With treadmills you need to watch out for the impact involved when your feet hit the belt; your body absorbs up to two and a half times your body weight.

A well-constructed treadmill is a piece of home exercise equipment that every member of your family can enjoy.

AC motors that are found in some treadmill units run at one continuous speed and rely on a transmission to regulate speed whereas units powered by DC motors use variable voltage to regulate the speed at which the belt spins.

A pre-programmed workout registers your heart rate without being connected to the treadmill by a cord or wire. Most treadmills come with an electronic console that displays workout feedback such as speed, distance traveled, time you’ve been working out and calories burned.

Notice that some treadmill heart rate monitors clip onto an ear or, for more accurate readings, strap on to the chest. Some treadmills monitor your heart by way of sensors built into the frame that are gripped by the hands, but this can only be done if you’re walking not running.

Safety features on a treadmill are especially important if you plan to work out alone or if you have small children who might accidentally start up the treadmill. The deck is the belt area on which actual running, jogging and walking take place.A heart rate monitor is another useful feature to look for.

The newest models of treadmills come with many extra features.Purchasing fitness equipment over the Internet has grown at a fast pace over the past few years.

Treadmills are a very important investment, regardless of the price; if it’s not right for you, you don’t want to find this out after you’ve set the treadmill up at home. Once you’ve decided on the treadmill that you think is right for you, make sure to compare prices online.

If you plan to use a treadmill purely for walking you are not likely to need an expensive top-of-the-line machine. Commercial club treadmills are reliable and well constructed; do look into a home version. You’ll probably want to buy a unit with a motor that delivers 1.5 to 3 continuous horsepower.

Consider bringing your water bottle and towel to the treadmill store and try out their treadmills. To make sure that your treadmill is sturdy and comfortable and doesn’t operate noisily, step on it and test it out before you buy.

The first thing to consider when shopping for a home treadmill is the kind of use you need it for. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty treadmill that can withstand running as well as walking, be prepared to spend more money. Once your equipment has been up and running, lubricants and cleaners can be used to take good care of it.

It’s best to get a treadmill that has a warranty that lasts for at least a year. If there’s a treadmill you’ve enjoyed using regularly at your local gym or fitness center check to see if there’s a home version available in your price range.

Walking, whether on a treadmill or not, is one of the best approaches anyone can take toward fitness. Be careful, any type of jogging or running, whether on a treadmill or not, puts strain on leg and hip joints.

If you have severe leg conditions, a treadmill may not be the best choice of home exercise equipment for you. Better quality treadmills provide excellent cushioning to limit the impact on knees, ankles, hips and lower backs.

And remember, home exercise treadmills are a large investment financially and in your fitness and much thought and preparation should go into the purchase of any new treadmill.

Take time to do your research, the same way you would any major purchase and buying a treadmill won’t be difficult. Purchasing a treadmill can be overwhelming but with help from treadmill ratings and treadmill reviews you should be able to make an informed decision.

Tips for Frozen Shoulder Exercise

If you have a frozen shoulder diagnosed by your physician and have done any research on this condition, then you are aware of the 3 stages by now: Stage 1 – Increasing pain in the shoulder joint with daily activities or range of motion, Stage 2 – Increasing stiffness and loss of motion, but usually less pain, and Stage 3 – Shoulder range of motion beginning to increase slowly with return of functional abilities. Hopefully if you have begun a frozen shoulder exercise program then you are experiencing results. But what if you are not?

If your progress is less than desired then you might add these tips to boost your results:

Try a very warm shower, or even better a very warm bath just prior to beginning your exercise. The moist heat will increase local blood flow and extensibility (stretchiness) of the tissues in and around the shoulder joint.

Start with good posture before beginning each exercise. If you look in the mirror and your natural relaxed posture reveals rounded shoulders and upper back and your chin is protruding forward, this will lessen the amount of motion you will be able to obtain. Retract your chin slightly, sit up tall or stand tall, and roll your shoulders backwards before beginning any range of motion exercise. By doing this you place your affected shoulder in a more natural position and will make the frozen shoulder exercise more effective.

Increase your frequency and intensity of each exercise session. You should be stretching and strengthening several times a day, but each session should be more brief with focused intensity rather than 2-3 long drawn out sessions. You will see quicker results by not allowing the shoulder to stiffen up between sessions that are too far apart.

The tips above will boost the effectiveness of your frozen shoulder treatment and increase your motivation as you will see results sooner. Always consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program and make sure your program is designed by a professional or licensed clinician.

1. Sodium Intake Sodium is an essential mineral you would need to take as it encourages the growth of muscles through increasing our muscle cell fluid volume. Though it is a good water retainer which is not good for us if we want to bulk up, it benefits you by enhancing carbohydrate storage and absorption of amino acids into our bodies. Flaxseeds, walnuts, oregano, cauliflower, mustard seeds, cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, tofu, spinach, kale, soybeans are all rich sources of omega-3 fatty acids. These foods make our muscles more sensitive to insulin which aids fueling our glycogen storage and entry of amino acid into our muscles. All these is done while preserving our storage of glutamine, a key nutrient for protein metabolism and preventing muscle deterioration.

3. Free Weights Training If you are serious about wanting to gain muscle mass, keeping the right diet is not enough. You need to work on some resistance training such as using free weights like dumbbells. They would work out your ancillary muscles and build compound mass on them. Buying Treadmills Online User-Friendly Tips

Today, fitness equipment manufacturers are trying to meet the high demand for home exercise treadmills. There are many competing models of treadmills, from inexpensive to expensive, to choose between. Of all the different types of home exercise equipment that have come and gone, the home exercise treadmill has lasted throughout the years.

AC motors that are found in some treadmill units run at one continuous speed and rely on a transmission to regulate speed whereas units powered by DC motors use variable voltage to regulate the speed at which the belt spins. A few treadmill models, which have rollers, are powered by the user rather than a motor. Treadmill cushioning absorbs the force of your step; get good cushioning to lower the impact on your joints and ligaments.

Some treadmills monitor your heart by way of sensors built into the frame, which is gripped by your hands, but can only be done if you’re walking not running. Less expensive treadmill models require you to manually change the incline, which can be very frustrating if you want to make adjustments midway through a workout session. One of the key things to remember is that the larger motors tend to run cooler and usually require less repair and maintenance.

A heart rate monitor is a very good, useful feature to look for on a machine. The newest models of treadmills come with many extra features that you may not need. Most treadmills come with an electronic console that displays workout feedback such as speed, distance traveled, time you’ve been working out, and calories burned.

A heart rate monitor enables a treadmill to automatically adjust the speed and/or the incline to keep your heart rate within the most optimum zone. Quite a few of the treadmills available today have the ability to add an incline to your workout to duplicate running or walking uphill, thereby increasing the intensity of your workout.

Keep in mind that what feels right to you may not accommodate others around you as comfortably. Most manufacturers of commercial treadmills found in gyms and health clubs also produce home versions. You might want to bring your water bottle and towel to the treadmill store and try out their treadmills.

One indication of the likely longevity of any treadmill is to check out the length of the manufacturer’s warranty; the longer the better. Be careful not to believe the marketing hype if you’re looking for a cheap treadmill; the truth is you get what you pay for. Buying a treadmill online has become the way to go for most people; it’ll save you both time and a lot of money.

Do your research; treadmills are an important investment, regardless of the price, and if it’s not right for you, you don’t want to find out after you’ve set the treadmill up at home. Before buying, make sure the deck area provides enough space for you to exercise in comfort and the belt should work smoothly without slipping or sticking. Treadmill manufacturers are competing for your business and price wars are creating big savings for buyers.

Check out the level of noise that a treadmill makes during operation; something that many buyers overlook. Less expensive treadmill models may be fine for walkers but may not hold up as well for regular or seasoned runners.

The first thing to consider when shopping for a home treadmill is what you need it to do for you. The more incline variation offered in a treadmill unit, the more expensive the model will be.

Be careful, because any type of jogging or running, whether on a treadmill or not, puts strain on leg and hip joints. Selections of preprogrammed exercise routines are not essential to obtaining a good workout from a treadmill, but they do help to provide motivation. Better quality treadmills provide excellent cushioning to limit the impact on knees, ankles, hips and lower backs. The more programs the treadmill has to offer the more you can vary your workout and you’ll be likely to continue exercising on a regular basis.

Besides spending your money on a treadmill make sure you spend time on it! By following the above tips you’re sure to find the best treadmill for you. A treadmill is a good investment for anyone who has decided to make a conscious effort to become healthy and fit.

Money-Saving Tips For Treadmill Buyers

Checking out treadmill ratings and treadmill reviews are an absolute must. Of all the different types of home exercise equipment that have come and gone, the home exercise treadmill has lasted throughout the years. The treadmill was one of the first pieces of home fitness equipment appealing to walkers, joggers, runners and a wide range of people.

Treadmill cushioning absorbs the force of your step; get good cushioning to lower the impact on your joints and ligaments. Cheaper treadmills will often give you the peak duty motor power rating, which is always higher than the continuous duty rating: know what the continuous duty rating is when comparing units. AC motors that are found in some treadmill units run at one continuous speed and rely on a transmission to regulate speed whereas units powered by DC motors use variable voltage to regulate the speed at which the belt spins.

One of the key things to remember is that the larger motors tend to run cooler and usually require less repair and maintenance. A heart rate monitor enables a treadmill to automatically adjust the speed and/or the incline to keep your heart rate within the most optimum zone. Safety features on a treadmill are especially important if you plan to work out alone or if you have small children who might accidentally start up the treadmill.

Quite a few of the treadmills available today have the ability to add an incline to your workout to duplicate running or walking uphill, thereby increasing the intensity of your workout. Notice that some treadmill heart rate monitors clip onto an ear or, for more accurate readings, strap onto the chest. The deck is the belt area on which actual running, jogging and walking take place.

One feature that is absolutely essential in a home treadmill is an emergency stop button or a safety key that automatically shuts off the power if you should stumble, trip or fall. The console indicates the belt speed and other factors, such as heart rate, miles per hour, and distance.

Any treadmill with a belt that causes jerky movements while you walk or run should be avoided. It’s important to set a strict budget and then stick to it. You’ll want a treadmill with an aluminum or high alloy steel frame that’s strong enough to support the heaviest runner who’ll be using it.

The taller a person is the longer their stride so you’ll need to choose a treadmill with a longer and wider belt. Be aware the better quality treadmills can cost as much as 00 and have a lot of bells and whistles you don’t need. You might want to bring your water bottle and towel to the treadmill store and try out their treadmills.

The first thing to consider when shopping for a home treadmill is what you need it to do for you. Did I mention to make sure to check out the warranty fine print, this is very important. When buying a treadmill, the best savings will be for an online purchase, generally saving up to 45% over brick and mortar stores.

Before buying, make sure the deck area provides enough space for you to exercise in comfort and the belt should work smoothly without slipping or sticking. Make sure to add the cost of shipping when buying a treadmill online; quality models can be heavy and shipping will cost more, but some manufacturers do offer free shipping.

Once you’ve decided on the treadmill that you think is right for you, make sure to compare prices online with several different manufacturers. Treadmill manufacturers are competing for your business and price wars are creating big savings for buyers.

Make sure to see your doctor or naturopathic doctor before you start any new fitness or exercise program. As you increase your fitness levels, a quality treadmill will continue to assist your exercise needs as you progress to light jogging or to running. Selections of preprogrammed exercise routines are not essential to obtaining a good workout from a treadmill, but they do help to provide motivation. If you have severe problems with your legs, a treadmill may not be the best choice of home exercise equipment for you.

Read the various treadmill ratings and treadmill reviews that you find online so you have an idea which models are best for you. With help from treadmill reviews and treadmill ratings you can find the treadmill that matches your fitness requirements at the cheapest or lowest price possible; and you’re sure to be buying from a reliable and trustworthy supplier. A treadmill is a good investment for anyone who has decided to make a conscious effort to become healthy and fit.

How To Get Ripped Abs Quick – 3 Super Abdominal Exercise Tips

So, you want to get ripped quick. With or without ab exercise equipment. Maybe summer is coming and you want to look really good in those swimming trunks or bikini.

Bad news…you’re not going to get ripped overnight. Good news…it can be done in a realistic time frame, which will of course depend on your current condition.

Get Ripped Quick – Super Tip 1: Sorting out your diet

First of all you need to sort out your diet. Don’t cut down on your calorie intake too severely as this can lead to muscle loss and also negatively affect your metabolism.

Ideally you want to strike a good balance between your intake of fat, carbohydrates and also protein.

The most important foods that you should cut out are refined sugars and starches. On the flip side you’d want to make sure you take in plenty of whole, natural, unprocessed foods like vegetables, organic meat, nuts, fruit and eggs.

Super Tip 2: What are the best type of cardio exercises to do?

Forget about doing endless long cardio in your ab exercise routine. You want to switch to shorter, more intense workouts. Not only are they more effective at speeding up your metabolism, but they’re also more fun, easier to fit into your busy schedule and easier to stick to. Examples include:

Rope Jumping

Short Sprints

Hill Sprints

Stair Climbing

Interval Training

Waist High Roundhouse Kicks on a Punch Bag

If you don’t know, interval training is quite simply where periods of intense exercise are mixed with periods of less intense exercise, or recovery. A simple example would be doing a 70m hill sprint, then walking back down before doing another.

Interval training improves the performance of the cardiovascular system and also helps remove the risk of strain injuries that can occur during repetitive endurance exercises.

Quite simply, you burn more calories during short, high intensity exercises than with long, slow cardio exercises. If you want to get ripped quick, interval training is the way to go.

Don’t over train, however. You will inhibit your body’s recovery and get exactly the opposite results of what you want. An injury caused by over training can also put you out of action for a long time, and there’s no need for me to explain what that means. Exercise about 3, maximum 4 times a week, and listen to your body.

Super Tip 3: What are the best abdominal exercises to do?

Focus on full body exercises instead of exercises that only isolate the abs. Most of your exercise time should be spent on these. I’m talking about pushups, pullups, squats, lunges, mountain climbers, static jumps. These are specifically exercises that don’t even require any ab exercise equipment, gym equipment or weights.

To get ripped quick you need to engage your entire body. Be sure to include some exercises that specifically target and isolate the abs in your routine, like jack knives, suspended leg lifts and reverse crunches, but don’t do ONLY those. Get your whole body working and you’ll burn fat much more effectively.

Incline Dumbbell Curls – Form, Benefits, and Tips

The biceps are often the focal point of bodybuilding for the beginner and rightfully so.  They are one of the first muscles that people see and something that you’ll be complimented on quite a bit if you can manage to bulk them up.  Bulking up your biceps, however, requires that you utilize the correct exercises and forms.  In here, I’ll be detailing how to perform the incline dumbbell curl to its fullest extent and show how it’ll help you get big arms.

The incline dumbbel curl is similar to the seated dumbbel curl, except it takes place on an incline.  I recommend taking an incline of, say, 60 degrees.  This’ll ensure that you get the additional range of motion but also don’t feel uncomfortable.  Once you’ve found your seat and are ready to begin the incline dumbbel curls, you can sit down and start with your hands at your sides.  Then curl the dumbbells up one by one.

Why is the incline dumbbel curl so effective?  Well, most of it has to do with the starting position of your arms.  They start fully extended and even stretched, granting you a greater range of motion.  These will put a good peak on your biceps and will also bulk them up considerably.  The additional range of motion also means you’ll get more workout per lift, making them more efficient than normal curls as well.

The incline dumbbell curl can be modified somewhat so that you can work the outter head of your biceps very intensely.  In order to do this, all you need to do is curl the dumbbell up to the side more than you would normally.  This’ll build up the outside of your bicep very effectively and you won’t be sacrificing any form or range of motion while doing it.

You should integrate the incline dumbbell curl into your arms day.  I don’t recommend doing more than 2-3 biceps exercises a day.  If you do that, however, make note that the biceps are actually not the only elbow flexor.  You’ll also want to work the brachialis and brachioradialis, both of which are fantastic for building mass.

Suffering a Frozen Shoulder? Relief Tips Here

Frozen Shoulder Relief Can Be Found By Following Some Simple Tips:

1. Get An Accurate Diagnosis — Frozen Shoulder Syndrome is a specific diagnosis requiring specific intervention. The worst thing an individual can do is start self-treating a condition without being sure just what they are treating. For instance, I have spoken with individuals before who swore they had a frozen shoulder but actually had a neck problem which was referring pain into their shoulder. This happens more often than one might think. A treatment for a neck condition is way different than a treatment for a frozen shoulder.
2. Educate Yourself — Take the motto “nobody runs your business like you do”. Individuals in pain, such as with a frozen shoulder, who are uneducated about their condition will often listen to advice from anyone who offers advice. The unfortunate part is that to the “uneducated” any solution sounds like a good solution. Educate yourself in the what, when, how, and why of a frozen shoulder relief and you will be best prepared to follow through with a specific plan.
3. Seek treatment from qualified professionals — Getting advice from a physician, physical therapist, or chiropractor is important, but make sure they have experience in treating your particular problem. More health dollars are wasted each year on ineffective treatment because the professional was not specialized in a particular area. Remember that in these times, with Medicare and other payors making cuts yearly, many healthcare professionals are beginning to practice outside their area of expertise. If you choose a program from the internet, check to see if the website owner is credentialed.
4. Start Treatment Early — Most individuals with this diagnosis begin treatment in later stages of adhesive capsulitis where regaining range of motion or function is most difficult. Frozen shoulder exercise must begin early to achieve a good outcome.
5. Use Heat and Ice Properly — In a nutshell, use heat before stretching or exercise your shoulder and ice afterwards. Heat opens capillaries allowing adequate blood flow to the joint and soft tissue. Heat also helps soft tissue become more flexible and respondent to stretch. Moist heat is the best. Ice closes capillaries thereby shutting off bloodflow and reducing swelling. Heat for stiffness and ice for inflammation.
6. Invest In A Rope and Pulley — This little tool can be use for stretching the shoulder in any way imaginable. A good physical therapist can show you specific exercise and stretching using a rope and pulley that will increase functional range of motion.
7. Drink Plenty Of Water — It’s a fact that most people in this world today are walking around in a state of dehydration. Lack of proper hydration contributes to more disease and dysfunction that you can imagine. It’s not necessary that you go overboard though. Just drink a little every time you pass a water fountain or sink. 8 glasses a day is recommended.
8. Perform Exercise Frequently — An individual with a stiff or frozen shoulder will not achieve satisfactory results by performing their exercise program 1-2 times a day. The shoulder will respond to short but frequent bouts of stretching, such as 6-10 times a day.

The above tips are essential in obtaining frozen shoulder relief. Surgery should be avoided unless all other treatment options have been exhausted. Medication should be used sparingly and not as the sole treatment is it is not treating the “root” cause of the condition. With proper exercise, rest, and nutrition, a person with adhesive capsulitis can overcome the pain and debility and return to a pain-free lifestyle.
